On Saturday January 19th, CANAAF’s Toronto group hosted a very successful “TEAM-UP” event at Yorkdale Shopping Centre.
The teen event began at Yorkdale’s upscale, Dine-On-3, food court location.
Upon arrival the teens were divided into two teams and each team was given $20 to spend at as many stores as possible within 60 minutes. The teams were led by our new energetic and youthful adult volunteers. Wow! What a competitive bunch of kids…although perhaps it had something to do with their savvy leaders! After an hour of intense shopping everyone reconvened at the Dine-On-3 location for some genuine laughs and conversation.
“What an amazing day the kids had. Thank you again for all you have done to put this event on. My kids said that this was the best time yet. They thought it should have been a little longer but they say that every time we do something with CANAAF.”
“Thank you, for all your hard work in organizing this for the teens. Our daughter enjoyed herself and is glad she went. We all felt very welcomed by all of you. She is looking forward to the roller skating coming up!”
“It was great to meet you, the volunteers, the parents and 3. the teens. I found the teens to be very mature, outgoing and strong. It was very impressive.”
On behalf of the CANAAF teens and volunteers we would like to thank Yorkdale Shopping Centre and particularly Brandon Baldacchin, (Concierge Up on Dine-On-3) who processed our reservation, greeted us with enthusiasm and replenished our thirst with complimentary lemon flavoured water brought right to our Dine-On-3 reserved seating area. We appreciated your hospitality and look forward to working with you again for a future CANAAF event!
